Setting up and starting your own private server on Dead Matter
The best method to setting up your own private server would of course be through us! We will provide you with some of the best performing servers available for Dead Matter.
This is currently a work in progress, currently we know the following:
You will be able to host your own server around the 19th-21st of this month, August!
Dead Matter and the server files will be on PC, via Steam.
What is the max players you can run on your server? we currently have limited it to a max of 80 but will be doing tests to see what is the maximum we can achieve whilst still providing zero lag.
The map size will be will be about 7.5x7.5km (~56km²). This will be expanded on throughout the Closed Alpha and Early Access to be about 16x16km (256km²). This is a good video for size reference: https://youtu.be/LwXV0oLEfCM
There be anti-cheat, If not at the beginning, it is still planned for there to be anti-cheat. Server admins will also have a variety of tools for dealing with cheaters as well.
