The majority of mods for FXServer now use CouchDB. We provide CouchDB instances free-of-charge, if you do not already have access to one please create a support ticket and we can set one up for you.

A. Installing mods via the LOW.MS Mod Manager
  1. Open up the Mod Manager (http://i.imgur.com/38WVeEt.jpg)
  2. Install your chosen mod. Some mods require other mods first, you will be notified if you try and install a mod that requires another.
  3. If the mod requires CouchDB (or you are unsure) move onto Step 4. Otherwise, your mod should be fully installed and you just need to restart your server.
  4. Go to Configuration Files (http://i.imgur.com/UNujrkq.jpg)
  5. You should see a config_db.lua or a similar named file for the installed mod (http://i.imgur.com/iOZyq06.jpg). You will need to edit this file and add your CouchDB details somewhere in the file (http://i.imgur.com/hl9CqFz.jpg). You will need to enter your CouchDB IP, Port, Username and Password. These can all be found in your CouchDB welcome email.
  6. Save the file and restart your server.

B. Installing mods manually
  1. Find and download mods from (https://forum.fivem.net/c/development/releases. We highly recommend checking the mod's installation instructions as well as following this guide.
  2. Upload the mod resource folder to your server's resources folder. We recommend doing this via FTP, a guide on how to use FTP can be found here: https://billing.low.ms/knowledgebase.php?action=displayarticle&id=11.
  3. Make a note of the name of the resource folder. For example, Essentialmode's resource folder is called essentialmode.
  4. Edit your server.cfg file, either via FTP, the file manager or through the Configuration Files area (http://i.imgur.com/UNujrkq.jpg).
  5. Add a line with "start" followed by a space and then the name of the mod's resource folder. (http://i.imgur.com/1dwn0yK.jpg)
  6. Now, using FTP or the File Manager, navicate the the mod's resource folder. For essentialmod this would be /resources/essentialmode.
  7. Locate the config file which contains the database details. Sometimes named config_db.lua, config.lua or db.lua.
  8. You will need to enter your CouchDB IP, Port, Username and Password (http://i.imgur.com/hl9CqFz.jpg). These can all be found in your CouchDB welcome email.
  9. Save the file and restart your server.
